Alcoholic power Drinks, What Are the Dangers?

Energy drinks have been a astonishing favorite trend for years. Red Bull, Rockstar, Monster and Amp, are constant caffeine and sugar charged companions to every grocery and convenience store check-out line.

The exploding popularity of vigor drinks is not something the alcoholic beverage producers could ignore for long. Some years ago, vigor drinks with alcohol added began to show up in stores, most with packaging that made them hard to distinguish from the 'regular' vigor drinks.

Combining the stimulant effects of caffeine and guarana, with the depressant effects of large amounts of alcohol creates problems in expanding to those produced by each drug separately, namely:

1. Because of a caffeine induced confidence in one's own alertness, there is the false impression of sobriety. Caffeine may lessen drowsiness, but it does not counteract or even lessen the way in which alcohol affects judgment, reaction time and coordination. Those alcoholic effects will persist until the body has wholly metabolized the alcohol.

2. Because of the effects of the caffeine, a drinker can continue drinking beyond the point at which he or she would commonly pass out, expanding the possibility of alcohol poisoning.

3. An effect of mixing caffeine with alcohol, is a lessened sensation of being drunk. The User feels less impaired than he or she admittedly is. This increases the incidence of driving drunk and other risky behaviors.

In truth, caffeine does not mitigate impairment from drinking. Blood alcohol level is the real determining factor. If you drink four ounces, you will be impaired just as badly as person who drank four ounces along with two Red Bulls-they just will not feel as impaired with the extra caffeine.

Most of these products hover colse to 6% to 9% alcohol by volume (Abv). But a few, including Four-Loko, put out by Phusion Projects Inc. Of Chicago, run over 12% Abv.

Definitely sufficient to keep it in the hard alcohol section of the liquor store.

At this writing, the convention of adding caffeine to alcoholic drinks is the field of some serious congressional questions and a probe by the Fda into the manufacturers of these drinks.

"Caffeinated alcoholic beverages are being marketed to American youth and gift a inherent hazard for our young people," Sen. Jeff Merkley, (D-Or).

Pressuring retailers to keep alcoholic beverages clearly separated from the non-alcoholic varieties, and forcing breweries and distilleries to label their products so they cannot be mistaken for non-alcoholic will go a long way toward lessening the negative effects of these drinks.

But in the end, only by production sure that young citizen are aware of the dangers of drinks that mix stimulants with alcohol can we wholly counter the corporate push to get these beverages into the hands of our youth.

Christian Drug Rehab

Faith based drug rehab is one arrival to drug rehab that is slightly separate from secular drug rehabilitation. The Christian religion based programs have at their core the confidence that religion plays a valuable role in the resumption process. Therefore, all programs are designed to emphasize the customary role of religion in the life of the addicted individual.

The study of scripture, religious services, and group discussions may all play a part of Christian drug rehab. As with other programs that are specialized funding and sustenance may depend on client payments and grants. Other aspects of rehab such as healing and psychiatric evaluations as well as duration of therapy may be similar to secular rehab programs. Often the rehabilitation is done in an sick person setting and may last one month. Drug addictions as well as alcohol abuse are huge problems for community and their rehabilitation requires committed individuals. Christian drug rehab has at its root the confidence that faith heals and these programs are spearheaded by volunteers and altruistic individuals.

One program's website states that they believe that God provides wholesome healing and overcomes the destructive power of drug addiction. These programs identify Jesus Christ as the Higher Power referred to in 12 step programs. Christian drug rehab aims to rehabilitate the personel in a whole manner by changing their view of the world and stressing the primacy of faith in the healing process. The philosophical basis of Christian drug rehab programs may not be well known to healthcare providers. It includes the plan that addiction arises from an attempt to fill a spiritual void through substance use and recovery through the process of salvation and a sustained relationship with God.

Christian drug rehab may be a model other religious or faith based organizations can use to manufacture drug resumption programs.

How To Overcome Addictions In A Drug Rehab town

Addiction to alcohol is genuinely a serious problem, and agreeing to the American healing Association, it's also a disease. This is not a thing that is likely to naturally go away for good on its own. It has to be remedied as soon as inherent but it will entail a great deal of work and consistent vigilance even subsequent to finishing an alcohol rehab program to prevent any relapses.

Alcoholism is a constant disease that just cannot be treated by a easy trip to a therapist. The policy is very long and involved, and it may genuinely be painful, but the harm a man does to their own body as well as to friends and house is often a lot worse.

Angeles Drug Los Rehab

Drug abuse and addiction genuinely causes corporeal alterations in the human brain and body. Inevitably a user starts to depend on these types of substances to be able to maintain general systemic operation, and the mind doesn't know what to do without it. That's why the best drug rehab town will contain a period of detoxification as well as a persisting maintain law once the chemicals are eliminated and the body begins to heal itself.

How can you tell when a friend or relative will need to enter an alcohol rehab program? Alcohol usage is so overall and ordinary it may be hard for some people to understand that there is a problem. Is the friend who has a tendency to drink a lot on nights out in trouble? Are some glasses of wine before going to sleep too much? How about a shot of whiskey in the morning coffee? The easiest method to find out would be to take away the alcohol from these scenarios to see what happens.

Sadly, a man might know and understand they have a drinking qoute but never seek out an alcohol rehab program. There was a beloved writer who talked about his drinking qoute and of the time he came to the realization he was an alcoholic. It had been a hard realization, but he didn't think: "I best get help," he only thought: "I had good be careful." He understood he had a problem, but he did not think he could live or write without the crutch of substance abuse.

Alcohol rehab, however, doesn't need to be voluntary to work. Either a man is coerced or ordered into a recovery program, there is a comparatively high rate of success and many people can remain sober after completing the process. This is why interventions by house and friends will often be step one toward successfully beating the compulsion.

A drug rehab town will invariably get underway with a cleansing phase. A body must remove the chemicals that are causing damage. Giving up this corporeal dependency can be difficult, and you'll encounter some retirement symptoms that may be very serious depending on just how long and how much an private was drinking.

As soon as this corporeal issue is overcome, though, it's time to take care of the psychological effects. To stop any relapses and be sure an private keeps clean, a lot of alcohol rehab programs offer ongoing help and counseling to help them enunciate their sobriety and start a healthier and happier life.

Methadone and Methadone treatment

Methadone is the generic name for an analgesic and can sacrifice pain for persons with injuries or following surgeries.

Methadone has pharmacological properties similar to morphine and heroin, along with habituation and addiction and is sometimes replaced for heroin, morphine or other opioid drugs while drug addiction treatment.

Angeles Drug Los Rehab

Used in some addiction treatment centers, methadone can be replaced for heroin, morphine and other opiate drugs due to a cross-tolerance, meaning that the symptoms incident to resignation from opiates can be reduced by using methadone.

If increasingly smaller doses are given, the idea is that the addict will be able to feel resignation symptoms more as a matter of fact and be successfully "detoxed" from anyone they were using. All too often, an illegal addiction to opiates is simply replaced with a legal dependency or addiction on methadone.

Methadone Buildup

One problematic aspect of methadone maintenance programs is that methadone stays in the body for up to 60 hours, even though the perceived benefits may be gone in 4 to 6 hours. Levels of the drug in the body can therefore build up over a duration of days to toxic levels and the user, trying to pronounce the same level of relief might continue to take higher doses, compounding the problem. Such a toxic buildup of methadone in the body can lead to perilous changes in breathing or heart rate that may cause death.

This can be especially perilous if distinct other medications are taken along with the methadone.

Signs of Methadone Overdose

Overdose of methadone can consequent from a large dose of the drug, or days of the same or similar doses. Indications include:

* Shallow breathing

* problem breathing

* Disorientation

* blurring or dizziness

* mystery walking or talking normally

* Blurred vision

An effective and drug-free addiction treatment center does not simply take one drug away, only to replace it with another, at least as addictive drug. Seek treatment in an environment that is totally free of drugs and in which the skills needed to live life without Any drug are taught.

It is not potential to turn the past, but it Is potential to turn the future. Good luck.

Luxury Drug Rehab treatment Centers Can Be Very efficient If You Know the Right Questions to Ask

In light of the new hype with regard to the legitimacy of luxury drug rehabs/substance abuse medicine centers, it is critically leading to become as best educated as to how to most effectively differentiate between "pure posh" and those facilities which apply luxury as a complement to an already sound program. Unforunately, most folks inquiring into medicine for themselves or a loved one are commonly in a bad emotional state and can be undoubtedly swayed by a good sales pitch. Hope is a superior thing, and we can all look back at our lives and identify times when hope overtook intuition and later resulted in regret.

In the case of luxury addiction medicine centers that are commonly found in areas such as Malbu, California, Florida, Orange County, Arizona, etc., it is crucial to identify and compare their commitment to the broad salvage process. Luxury can be a breathtaking thing if it is properly infused in order to improve the salvage process. There are obviously many varying opinions within the expert addiction medicine community, but the coarse denominator is that all licensed medicine centers should focus on the greater good of the client and work diligently toward helping to best ensure one's long-term sobriety, anyone that may entail.

Angeles Drug Los Rehab

It is highly encouraged for those seeking medicine for themselves or a loved one to diligently engage in the process of seeking the "right" medicine town for their exact needs. Here are a few guidelines, suggestions and questions that should be noted during this research process.:

Disclaimer: This narrative is meant simply to edcucate and originate added understanding into the process of choosing on the right procedure of addiction treatment. While the author of this narrative has mammoth perceive within the realm of chemical dependency medicine services, he is not a physician nor is he a licensed addiction medicine specialist.

Do some research first. Go to Google and type something which resembles "information on addiction" and read up on as much as you can. There are varying opinions on either addiction is a disease or not, but most curative professionals do agree that addiction is a disease and is recognized as such by the majority of the curative community. There are 12 step approaches, holistic approaches, cognitive therapy, experiential therapy, etc. If you feel comfortable and have any friends, family or colleagues with perceive in the field of medicine then right on think speaking with them as to what their thoughts are. As in nearly any other example in life, those closest to you and whom have no financial motive are more likely to tell it like it is. Next, while I hate to bring money into the equation, it is a primary component. What can you afford? Does the person have health insurance? If so then what does it cover? You can save yourself some time by calling the number on the back of the guarnatee card and looking out what exactly is covered and which facilities they ageement with. In many cases you will need to speak with the reasoning health branch which regularly has a separate phone number. Be sure to have as much data as inherent with regard to the substances in which the inpatient has been abusing. Some chemicals such as ethyl alcohol and benzodiazepines (Valium, Zanax...) may need a formal curative detox and could potentially cause life-threatening conditions if the person just quits cold-turkey. Other substances such as opiates and opioids (heroin, Vicodin, Morphine, Oxycontin...) aren't typically life threatening during resignation but can cause very severe flu-like symptoms which can be greatly lessened by use of clear medications. Again, we are not physicians; we are simply speaking from experience.

Some things to say and ask:

When you begin calling or speaking with medicine centers, try to have person else with you. It's leading that the data you get is processed with imagine and soundness, and addiction - either it's for you or person else you're inquiring on profit of - can cause mammoth grief and confusion which may lead to impulsivity. Two heads are great than one. Tell The Admissions advisor Everything! If you're ashamed that your son is also shooting up heroin and you rule not to disclose that among the other things he's abusing, then you could potentially be creating more problems. Be honest and thorough! Once you explain your situation be sure to ask if a curative detox is necessary. The person answering the phone will likely not be a physician and will not be able to give you a definitive yes or no, but you should ask if the in the case of a curative detox being required, will there be a physician on site or at a different location which requires travel? There are clear advantages to an on site physician and in clear cases it undoubtedly is quite important. Keep request questions until you feel comfortable. What is the client to staff ratio? What types of certifications does the staff have? What levels of study and hands-on perceive does the staff member have? How much one-on-one time will the client get with the assigned therapist and/or addiction counselor? What are their medicine modalities? (You may not know the first thing about medicine modalities, and that is ok, let the admissions advisor explain all about it to you). Are they a 12-step based program? Do they offer any holistic treatments within the schedule structure? What types of groups do they escort on a day-to-day basis? Will the inpatient be seen and assessed by a psychiatrist to rule if there are any co-occurring reasoning health issues going on (depression, anxiety, grief & loss...)? And if so, will the installation take care of ensuring the medications are picked up for the client? What are the visitor policies? Do they offer a family group and family counseling by an Mft or other superior master in order to help transition the family through this duration of time, as well as to locate and begin resolving any issues within the family dynamic? How long is the medicine program? What type of aftercare planning and maintain do they provide? Fyi: Relapse is more coarse in cases when the client leaves medicine and goes from a structured & protected environment right back into wee or no structure, and even more so if they return to their old stomping ground while having that new-found freedom, money and transportation. Transition planning is highly leading as the medicine phase nears its end. What types of fun activities do they offer? population in addiction often lose the ability to perceive joy without the use of drugs, alcohol, gambling, sex, etc., and if they can't begin to re-learn the pure joys which life has to offer then it added sets them up for a greater likelihood of relapse. What kind of food do they provide? What about physical exercise? These are both leading components and play integral roles in the medicine process ready at many facilities. What about things like meditation, spirituality, etc? Addicts are said to be spiritually bankrupt and while drugs and alcohol helped to originate this situation, the truth is that there practically always exists deeper underlying issues that were ironically alleviated by the use of drugs & alcohol early on before "addiction" undoubtedly set in. What elements within the schedule are geared to address this area?

With some of these questions you may not even know what the acknowledge is in which you're hoping to hear. That is why prior research about addiction can be very beneficial, but ultimately you will begin to get a sense of what level of medicine the installation offers. Listen for the details. For instance, if you ask "how much one-on-one time will the inpatient receive with his/her assigned therapist," and they acknowledge with "our clients receive quite a bit of individual therapy time" vs. "each client will receive at least one hour per day of individual therapy, and sometimes more if they're having an especially difficult day;" which sounds great to you? If, for example, you ask them how much addiction-related perceive their staff psychiatrist has and you get a reply stating that their chef was classically trained in Europe's finest culinary academy then there may be cause for concern. There should ultimately be more emphasis located on core purpose and medicine protocol than on the accommodations.

Upon admission to a facility, there are two things which will always be performed - aside from admission and psych-social paperwork. One, they will accomplish a toxicology screening (urinalysis) in order to find out exactly what substances the inpatient has been using. Two, they will need that all belongings and baggage are completely searched by a superior staff member in order to ensure that no contraband is taken any added within the facility. These are Musts, and while I would never go so far as to diminish the legitimacy of a medicine program, in the case where these two protocols were not diligently enforced it would be great cause for concern! Addicts & alcoholics whom are active in their addiction simply cannot be trusted and must be treated accordingly during the intake process in order to maintain the integrity and security of the other clients and staff alike. This process will be performed with as much dignity and professionalism as possible, but must be performed nonetheless. The installation must have full and strict knowledge of the chemicals in their theory in order to rule the medicine & detox regimen, and likewise, must have the guarnatee that the new client is not bringing in anyone which may pose a threat to the sobriety and well-being of the other patients.

For more unbiased data on addiction medicine you are encouraged to visit the Substance Abuse & reasoning health Services administration Website (Samhsa) at: www.samhsa.gov which is operated by the federal government. There is also mammoth data ready on the Sober Nexus Blog at: www.treatment-center-information.com. Best wishes to you during this process and remember, medicine works best when the inpatient is willing to let it work, so do your very best to keep a clear mindset and look toward the engaging future that lies ahead rather than musty past that cannot be changed.

Jews, Alcoholism and Addiction

There is an old adage "a shiker is a goy" (only gentiles are alcoholics); this profoundly biased and inherently wrong saying has been the progenitor of an roughly cultural imperative that the diseases of alcoholism and addiction have bypassed the Jewish culture without even sullying the perceived holiness of the "chosen people". Nothing could be supplementary from the truth. Yet this self inflicted delusion has kept may Jews who suffer from this very real and terminal disease from ever getting help or even having proactive referrals from their Rabbis and spiritual leaders.

The fact is that this "shanda" (shame) factor is responsible for the deaths of maybe thousands of Jewish addicts who kept their secrets sublimated and ended up in the grave.

Angeles Drug Los Rehab

There is also a misconception in the general collective that alcoholism and addiction are not healing diseases, but rather a quiz, of moral character and will power. This idea has helped to reinforce the widely held cultural belief that Jews are immune to the ravages of this deadly affliction. Addiction is a disease that can be diagnosed by the disease model criteria held by the Ama (American healing Association). It is not the addict or alcoholics fault that they have this disease (the same way diabetics are not to blame for their ailment), yet it assuredly the addicts enforcement to recover. Alcoholism and addiction like diabetes is an incurable, finally terminal disease that can be treated, and with vigilance be arrested for a lifetime.

Some 76 million Americans have experienced some form of alcoholism or addiction in their families agreeing to the town on Addiction and Substance Abuse.  Dr. Abraham Twerski has been working with addicted Jews and learning the affects of addiction on the Jewish society for many years.  Dr. Twerski has written extensively and is an authority on addiction.  Some of the following facts was taken from his articles.  Additionally, the Canadian Jewish News, Orthodox Union, Detroit Jewish News and the Global News aid of the Jewish habitancy have all recently written articles on the problems of drug addiction in the Jewish community.

Alcoholism accounts directly or indirectly for at least 50 percent of the cases that appear in family court. In the middle of 30 and 40 percent of youths in problem with the law or school authorities come from alcoholic homes. Currently, app. 80 percent of the habitancy in state prisons have alcohol or drug problems.  roughly half of the children of Alcoholics become Alcoholic.

The home is not the only place where alcoholism interferes. In the middle of 6 and 10 percent of employees have alcohol problems.  Nationally (U.S.), the total cost is nearly billion a year due to absenteeism, health and welfare services, and asset damage as well as loss of production.

Alcohol and drug abuse is a disease. It is a fatal illness that begins with casual or experimental use.  It rapidly becomes an addiction, which involves loss of operate over the substance or behavior, and finally leads to self-destruction.  The illness deserves treatment.  Addiction can be plainly defined as prolonged use despite negative consequences. Shame about this disease keeps those who suffer from it locked in its vicious cycle. The truth is it is not and addicts fault that he has this disease; it is however there accountability to seek treatment.

The myth that Jews are immune to the diseases of addiction still prevails; though it has been losing its credibility. The textbooks on substance abuse still cite outdated references that Jews drink more alcohol per capita than any other identified ethnic group, yet have a remarkably low rate of alcoholism.  Unfortunately myths like these have hampered many who need treatment.  Jewish news agencies from nearby the world are now letting the society know that drug addiction in our society exists and the time to act is now before more lives are lost.

Up until today there has been only one treatment town nation wide that catered to the needs of the Jewish community. Beit T'shuvah in Los Angeles is an exceptional 100 bed premise that has been helping Jews recover for years by using 12 step, first-rate therapy and Torah/Jewish spirituality. Today there is someone else choice for Jews seeking recovery. Serenity Manor East an established east coast treatment town has responded to the needs of the Jewish society by becoming a bio/psycho/social model treatment town that has adapted to the needs of the Jewish community, by integrating Jewish spirituality as the basic component of its treatment philosophy. Rabbi Mark "Grommet" Rotenberg Cadc has been at the helm of Serenity Manor East for over 18 months and has converted the curriculum and the premise to avail its services to the trans-denominational face of the national Jewish community. The premise adheres strictly to the laws of Kosher and makes recovery accessible for the most religious to the most secular Jew.

Serenity Manor East is a high end treatment premise with only 6 beds that caters to the more affluent Jewish habitancy who may have difficulty integrating into conventional rehabs. The small client habitancy affords the client intensive, personal and personel treatment catering to their specialized needs. The environment at Serenity Manor East prevents the client from slipping straight through the cracks as often happens in large multi bed facilities. The first-rate drug and alcohol treatment is handled by certified addiction counselors, therapists, and collective workers; while the spiritual focus and psycho/spiritual therapies are given by the Rabbi.

Serenity Manor East has as its objective, to bring Jews who suffer not only from substance and process addictions, but the stigma of these addictions, into recovery.  The Jewish society is in a urgency state. The ever growing addiction rate is currently being battled by denial and old views that see addiction as a weakness, rather than a disease that has treatment options. Many reasons for the non-seeking of treatment in this society is the misconception that the 12step model is inherently non-Jewish in nature. The fact that many meetings are held in churches along with the feeling of being an outsider deters many who would seek healing from attendance.

One of the many issues that  Serenity Manor East will address includes the dispelling of such unfounded ideas.  treatment in the first-rate 12 step model is more closely connected to a Jewish belief of spiritual growth than any other belief system. One of the basic premises of recovery is "acting your way into right thinking" or "na-ashey v'nishmah" we will do and then we will hear or understand. straight through the use of the A.A. Texts we will exertion to inculcate ideas that are of a very traditional Jewish nature.   It can be said that the Torah is about G-d's will as opposed to G-d's nature. That It can be looked upon as a cognitive behavioral modification process, whose intent is to direct the Jew to a path of righteousness and decency. This is the very principle that sits at the root of all anonymous programs.

By creating a recovery society where the Jews can feel at home and not be burdened with the exterior issues of struggling to keep the laws of Kashrus or being separated and isolated in Prayer, Serenity Manor East hopes to instill someone else Jewish and 12 step value; that of Unity  "Achdus".  The society is an integral part of recovery, and being a unified front in the Jewish society will help to reintegrate those who feel doubly isolated, those who live a underground life within themselves. Those whose internal struggle about their own spiritual path separates them from their families, and whose Judaism separates them from what they believe to be a predominately Christian recovery community.

Another point of contention is the belief of the good Jew. Many orthodox addicts are trapped in the dilemma of "I am a good Jew, a decent person, with a link to my Jewish roots", how can I be afflicted with this disease? Why can't I get it?"  We intend to address Torah spirituality straight through the use of Sifre Kodesh (holy texts). There are volumes of texts that are replete with ideas of recovery. We hope to bridge the Rote/Internalized (Kevah/Kavanah) gap. By teaching assorted texts in a practical application technique; we will hopefully help to produce an basic mode of having a set routine, without it becoming "routine". This is the basic belief of One day at a time; the keystone of recovery. Many Jewish addicts raised in Jewish homes are well versed with the performance of prayer and ritual, yet seem to have a problem relating to the actions in terms of experiential reality (spiritually). One great way to get the addict to live in the occasion (think about what he/she does) is to slow them down.

Cognitive behavioral therapy has long been a cornerstone of Jewish practice. Made forefront by the modern Mussar movement, teaching character refinement straight through spiritual discipline, echoes the traditional concepts of recovery. Showing clients that their use is not so much a cause of unmanageability in their lives, but a failed coping mechanism resulting from that unmanageability, is an introductory awareness significant for the path of spiritual recovery. Cheshbon Hanefesh (accounting of the soul) is hopefully to become a daily event for those in  treatment at Serenity Manor East. The praying of "Ribbono shel Olam" scholar of the Universe at bedtime can take on a new profound meaning in the addicts daily house cleaning.

These are the concepts that Serenity Manor East hopes to instill in its client base straight through practical application of the12 steps, psychotherapy, and textual learning, culminating in an internalized performance based recovery that is congruent with Judaism.

executive Coaching Response and Intervention

The executive Vice President of a large corporation in Los Angeles contacted me seeking my aid in working with a essential staff member who was exhibiting an aggressive edge that was causing tension at their workplace.

According to the facts I was given, this laborer had no idea that her colleagues felt she was addressing them with a defensive attitude and unpleasant, inappropriate angry comments.

Angeles Drug Los Rehab

It has been my palpate that in working with this type of referral, the identified client must be handled sensitively with discretion and honesty when explaining why he/she is being directed to executive Coaching by the employer.

Clients in this category are generally defiant to turn and tend to perceive their referral to executive Coaching with a degree of suspicion. I cannot stress sufficient the foremost of honesty in explaining to the referred client that executive Coaching in not psychotherapy. Rather it is an individual tutoring and coaching schedule based on the client's personal scores that are a effect of an assessment that is given at the beginning of the Program. This assessment measures the areas in which each person can heighten interactions, portion operation in stress management and in communication, growth emotional brain (Eq), and address anger management, as well as compare the client's motivation to make changes in his/her life.

Further explanation of the executive Coaching schedule emphasizes that this is a one-to-one session, all facts remains confidential; and, no one from his/her workplace or elsewhere can passage facts regarding the referral's progress. This explanation will sell out tension on the client's part and assure his/her attendance at the first session and subsequent sessions.

Doctors Without Borders - Part One

From its traditional founding in 1971 by doctors and journalists in France, Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières (Msf) has continued to progress it's proximity colse to the world. Today Msf has sections in 19 countries and conducts operations in more than 60 countries, focusing their efforts on those who are caught in life-threatening situations, whether due to armed conflict, malnutrition, epidemics or natural disasters.
"We find out where the conditions are the worst - the places where others are not going - and that's where we want to be." - Nicolas de Torrente, executive Director

The hallmark of the assosication is their independence, providing impartial assistance to those in need while reserving the right to speak out with respect to human crises and to draw concentration to the many shortcomings or abuses of the humanitarian aid system. They also take an active role in advancing curative treatments and protocols.

Angeles Drug Los Rehab

To verbalize their independence, 89% of Msf's over all funding ( and 100% of Msf-Usa's funding) comes from underground sources, not governments. In 2006, Msf had more than three million private donors and underground funders worldwide.

This independence allows Msf to bypass political, economic or religious interests within the area. They also refuse to take sides in any conflict, instead dedicating their services to all who are in need, regardless of circumstances.

The Teams and Services

At any time there may be in excess of 27,000 doctors, nurses, logistics experts, administrators, epidemiologists, laboratory technicians and thinking health professionals representing dozens of nationalities serving the Msf cause. As a crisis unfolds, these staff members are dispatched based on availability and skill set, with each assignment often persisting between 6 and 12 months.

Services they contribute depend upon the nature of the crisis at hand, but may include:
Basic health care, thinking health care and surgery Hospital and clinic restoration and administration Vaccination campaigns Feeding centers for malnourished children Construction of wells to contribute clean drinking water Supply shelter materials and blankets Treatments for Hiv/Aids, tuberculosis, cholera, meningitis, measles and other diseases

Msf doctors accomplish surgical operation in evaporative places such as Democratic Republic of Congo and Somalia. Posted at a new project opened in Kismayo, southern Somalia in 2007, British surgeon Dr. Paul McMaster describes his work:

"We see lots of gunshot wounds in the abdomen, I just saw person whose arm was shattered with a kalashnikov. The busiest day so far, I was working on a skin graft for a burned child, when a bomb went off. There were about 15 casualties. It took an hour and a half to get citizen triaged and stabilized and I worked into the evening on assorted operations from serious facial wounds to sutures."
Logistical Expertise

Responding to emergencies is time-critical, and due to the fact that every crisis is different, a unique kit of curative supplies and equipment must be shipped to save lives as fast as possible. The mixture of each kit is diverse, and may include a complete operating room or the supplies needed to deal with scores of cholera patients.

Operating from the Msf logistics center in Bordeaux, France, they deal with tons of curative supplies, water purification equipment, food, and hundreds jeeps. Cargo planes can be loaded for take off on a moment's notice, heading to wherever a crisis erupts.

Speaking Out for Justice

Beyond the efforts made to alleviate the pain and suffering of those in crisis, Msf speaks out against the root causes of this suffering and the many challenges to providing productive assistance. These issues are passed on to governments and the United Nations, as well as media outlets and the normal public. Msf staff members are sent to speak at a collection of conferences, and they also arrange informational events and traveling exhibitions.

Through their Campaign for passage to requisite Medicines program, Msf addresses the need for lower drug prices and encourages the requisite study and improvement initiatives required to found new treatments. Much progress has been made recently as industrialized countries have stepped up their financial aid, but a statement on the campaign's web site demonstrates that many are still in dire need.
"There are an estimated 2.1 million children living with Hiv/Aids, 90% of whom are from sub-Saharan Africa. Only 10% receive any medicine for the disease."

The Dangers of salvage Lives

While situations bright famine, disease or the aftermath of a natural disaster are considered relatively safe, those operations which are based in the middle of armed conflicts place Msf staff in harm's way. Governments in many countries, especially Africa, are waging battles with political rivals, insurgents, rebels and leisure fighters - the definition often depending on whose side you are on. Though the Msf staff is not supposed to be targeted by any warring faction, that is not all the time the case.
"On January 28, 2008, in what was an organized attack, a Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières (Msf) car was struck by a roadside bomb while traveling through the port city of Kismayo in souther Somalia. The blast killed Victor Okumu, a 51-year-old Kenyan surgeon; Samien Lehalle, a 27-year-old French logistician; and Mohamed Abdi Ali, a 28-year-old Somali driver. another member of the team was wounded in the explosion."

To mixture this tragedy further, Msf withdrew their 87 international staff members from 14 different projects over Somalia. The situation in Somalia illustrates how involved the dynamics can be, with the country very unstable and its citizens suffering the effects of a 20+ year civil war.

The Lack of International Attention

Doctors Without Borders published a list of the Top Ten Most Underreported Humanitarian Stories of 2007, the details of which paint a bleak story of the many millions in crisis. Sadly, these stories typically get just a passing mention in the media, regardless of the lives involved.
Humanitarian Aid Restricted in Myanmar Displaced Fleeing War in Somalia Face Humanitarian Crisis As Chechen conflict Ebbs, Dire Humanitarian Needs Remain Civilians in Sri Lanka Under Fire Drug-Resistant Tuberculosis Spreads as New Drugs Go Untested Political and Economic Turmoil Spark Health-Care crisis in Zimbabwe Conditions Worsen in Eastern Democratic Republic of Congo Civilians Targeted in Central African Republic Living Precariously in Colombia's conflict Zone Expanded Use of Nutrient-Dense, Ready-to-Use Foods Crucial for Reducing Childhood Malnutrition

The Plight of Refuges and Internally Displaced Persons

In many of these dire situations, especially those bright armed conflict, thousand are forced to leave their homes and relocate to safer areas. Regardless of whether they stay in their own country or flee over borders, their plight is one of danger and uncertainty.

In 2007 Msf brought their outdoor educational exhibit, A Refugee Camp in the Heart of the City, to Chicago, Dallas, Houston, Milwaukee and Minneapolis. In 2008, this expected exhibit, depicting what it is like to live in a refugee camp, arrived in Winnipeg, Edmonton, Calgary, Vancouver, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Santa Monica and San Diego.

Lindsay Lohan leaves jail, posts 300K bail and Returns Home amidst Media Frenzy! Tube. Duration : 1.40 Mins.

Lindsay Lohan leaves jail, posts 0K bail and Returns Home amidst Media Frenzy! Actress Lindsay Lohan left jail late Friday night outside Los Angeles, avoiding a nearly monthlong sentence handed to her after she failed a drug test. The troubled actress was freed shortly before midnight after posting 0000 bail, an LA County Sheriff's Department spokesman said Saturday. A judge rode to Lohan's rescue last night in a surprise ending worthy of a Hollywood script. Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Patricia Schnegg cleared the way for the starlet's release from jail on 0000 bail just hours after another judge tossed her in the pokey without bail for flunking a drug test. The last-minute twist came after Lohan's ace lawyer Shawn Chapman Holley filed an appeal arguing the "Mean Girls" star was unlawfully whisked away in handcuffs following a morning court appearance. "There is no question that Ms. Lohan is entitled to bail while her alleged probation violation is being adjudicated," Chapman Holley claimed in her lightning-fast writ of habeas corpus. Schnegg agreed, ruling that Judge Elden Fox overstepped his authority when he stripped the relapsed redhead of her 00 sandals and had deputies haul her away in handcuffs. Schnegg said California law guarantees defendants bail in misdemeanor cases and set bail along with some stringent conditions, including a new booze-monitoring SCRAM anklet - the actress' third. Lohan's bail bondsman said earlier in the day he was prepared ...

Reason 3: They Are Still Stoned

When stoned, a drug abuser is unable to keep completely up with or to stay totally focused on the gift environment, or the current conversation. There are some reasons for this which we will cover, but you can see it happening. If you do not watch for it, you might miss it and just leave the conversation kind of scratching you head or a bit confused.

Angeles Drug Los Rehab

Have you ever spoken to someone and gotten the impression that they are seeing right straight through you and cannot hear a particular word you are saying? Or have you found yourself shaking your head when you had just closed production an foremost point in a conference and the someone you were speaking to responded with a annotation or demand that was completely off topic and non sequitur?

You were talking to someone who was not tracking with the rest of the world. The most likely conjecture is they were on drugs.

Drugs enter the body and are eliminated at varying rates. Some can be out of the system rapidly, and other drugs will take weeks to come to be completely inactive.

The liver breaks down many of the drugs and other toxins we ingest. For example, alcohol, (ethanol, actually) is changed pretty rapidly, within 24 hours, most of the ethanol from a "binge" has been converted to other chemicals and ultimately into sugars that can be metabolized and dumped. It is a well known waste of time to try to talk sense to someone who is drunk. But if you wait until their blood is free of the drug, you have a much good likelihood of reaching them.

Thc, the active drug in marijuana is much slower to leave the body. Not broken down by the liver, Thc can stay in the bloodstream for weeks. For that reason, talking to someone who was smoking marijuana last night is also pretty much a waste of your time. Agreements made will be forgotten and even realizations they had will be gone before too long. They were not as a matter of fact "there" to begin with.

This is a huge wall to helping a drug addict see the light and seek help.

There are, of course, population who simply have mystery focusing, with or without drugs. Although it is unfortunate, they are pretty easy to recognize. But, if a someone you know to be regularly sharp or "with it" starts to exhibit these tendencies, it can absolutely be due to drug use.

The solution?

Refuse to discuss the all foremost topic of handling drug addiction or going to detox or rehab with a stoned drug abuser. Try to reach them before they have taken the first hit of the day. While they will be far from clean, it will be the good than talking to them when they are as a matter of fact high.
